ACE2 PET in healthy and diseased conditions

چکیده

Angiotensin converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) played a critical role in regulating renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). In this research, 68Ga-cyc-DX600 was synthesized as PET tracer of ACE2 imaging. positron emission tomography/magnetic resonance (PET/MR) preliminary administered on twelve healthy volunteers, and the images were normalized registered to establish standard model PET. diseased conditions, 18F-FDG compared for COVID-19 (one acute phase three post-COVID), anemia (n = 1) malignancies 2) evaluate diagnostic efficiency. definite dependence. For uptake PET/MR female male, differences existed salivary glands, upper respiratory tract kidneys, meanwhile, age, body mass index (BMI) also confounding factors. RAAS-related tissue organs relatively higher uptake, such SUVmean cardiac chamber (3.786 ± 1.495), liver (5.342 2.267), spleen (4.465 2.508), kidney (4.906 1.619 8.431 5.179 male). COVID-19, revealed fluctuations, particularly susceptible organs, including liver, testis. case anemia, activated local RAS bone marrow diffuse high uptake. added supplementary information FDG 68Ga-cyc-DX600-based models established visually monitoring whole-body expression. The feasibility supervising disease primarily proved providing comprehensive view process functional recovery.

ACE2 and AT4R are present in diseased human blood vessels.

A growing body of evidence suggests that the angiotensin II fragments, Ang(1-7) and Ang(3-8), have a vasoactive role, however ACE2, the enzyme that produces Ang(1-7), or AT4R, the receptor that binds Ang (3-8), have yet been simultaneously localised in both normal and diseased human conduit blood vessels. We sought to determine the immunohistochemical distribution of ACE2 and the AT4R in human ...

Microvascular pericytes in healthy and diseased kidneys

Pericytes are interstitial mesenchymal cells found in many major organs. In the kidney, microvascular pericytes are defined anatomically as extensively branched, collagen-producing cells in close contact with endothelial cells. Although many molecular markers have been proposed, none of them can identify the pericytes with satisfactory specificity or sensitivity. The roles of microvascular peri...

Mucociliary Transport in Healthy and Diseased Environments

Mucociliary clearance in the lung is the primary defense mechanism that protects the airways from inhaled toxicants and infectious agents. The system consists of a viscoelastic mucus layer on top of a nearly-viscous periciliary layer surrounding the motile cilia. In healthy environments, the thickness of the periciliary layer is comparable to the cilia length. Perturbations to this system, whet...

Glutamate Signaling in Healthy and Diseased Bone

Bone relies on multiple extracellular signaling systems to maintain homeostasis of its normal structure and functions. The amino acid glutamate is a fundamental extracellular messenger molecule in many tissues, and is used in bone for both neural and non-neural signaling. This review focuses on the non-neural interactions, and examines the evolutionarily ancient glutamate signaling system in th...

Transcriptomes in healthy and diseased gingival tissues.

BACKGROUND Clinical and radiographic measures are gold standards for diagnosing periodontitis but offer little information regarding the pathogenesis of the disease. We hypothesized that a comparison of gene expression signatures between healthy and diseased gingival tissues would provide novel insights in the pathobiology of periodontitis and would inform the design of future studies. METHOD...
